ABOUT US

                    In the year 1991-81, the birth centenary year of Shri Sant Gulabrao Maharaj, in order to introduce the literature of Maharaj to the villagers, Late Bhaiyyasaheb Dada Deshmukh decided to start Shri Sant Gulabrao Maharaj Public Library.

                    In the form of books, a storehouse of knowledge was created so that the educated people of the village could acquire more knowledge. Established on 14th January, 1981, the Category 'D' Library has come under 'B' category today under the guidance of the present President of the Society,  Shri Rajabhau  Deshmukh.

                    From 1981 to date, the number of books in the library is over eleven thousand, in which religious books, collections of stories, novels, poetry collections, reference books for competitive examinations, encyclopedias, historical, mythological books are available. The number of regular readers in the library is over one hundred and a total of around five hundred readers take advantage library.

               Through daily newspapers and periodicals, the villagers regularly sit in the library premises to keep abreast of the latest developments.

                    New activities are also implemented by the library. The people of the village are invited to the library through book exhibitions, book fairs, book readings and lectures. These activities are carried out regularlyby us with a view to make reading more interesting and boost up their intellectual development.

                    In the presence of Shri Vishnuji Kshirsagar, Dr. V. N. Pandit, Prof. Ram Shewalkar, Sant Achyut Maharaj, Dr. Shriram Lagu, Former Speaker of the Legislative Council Shri Balasaheb Bharade, Dr. U. M. Pathan,and Late. Vidyadharji Gokhale, the message and importance of library/reading was past on to the villagers. 

               The library has started a regular 'Dnyanpoi' project to inculcate the love of reading in school children. Through the book exhibition, the majority of the women, men and youth in the village attend in large numbers and handle and read books with great curiosity.
